They come in three shaft lengths: short for pickguards, standard for direct body mounting, and long for thick-top instruments. Available in audio (logarithmic) versions for volume and linear versions for tone control.
The resistance depends on your pickups: 250K for single coils, 500K for humbuckers, and 25K for active systems. 300K versions are used as an intermediate value between 250K and 500K to fine-tune the tone.
