A fretboard isn't just a piece of wood; it's the most critical surface for your guitar's playability and intonation. We provide materials that meet professional luthier standards:
Material Selection: We stock classic tonewoods like Maple, Rosewood, and Ebony. Every piece is selected for its grain orientation and moisture content to minimize warping and ensure a long-lasting, stable surface.
Various Stages of Completion:
Raw Blanks: For builders who want full control over the radius, scale length, and slotting.
Pre-Radiused & Slotted: Save time and ensure mathematical precision. These boards come with accurately cut fret slots for specific scale lengths (like 25.5" or 24.75") and a consistent radius, ready for inlay work and fret installation.
Workability: Our boards are thicknessed to provide enough material for final sanding and leveling after being glued to the neck blank.
Technical Tip:
When choosing a pre-slotted board, always double-check your scale length and fret wire tang width. For raw blanks, ensure the wood has acclimated to your workshop's humidity levels for at least a few days before you start your first cuts to avoid tension-related movement.
