Hollow body
Floating bridge systems for archtop and semi-acoustic guitars.
Unlike fixed bridges, hollow body bridges rely on string pressure to stay in place, allowing the top of the instrument to vibrate more freely. We offer a selection of floating bridges designed to match the unique contours of archtop guitars, providing a warm, woody resonance that is essential for jazz, blues, and rockabilly. Whether you prefer a traditional all-wood design or a metal-topped hybrid, these bridges ensure a proper fit and traditional acoustic response.

Materials and coupling.
The base of the bridge is the most critical part, as it must be perfectly fitted to the arched top of your guitar for maximum energy transfer.
Traditional Wood Designs: Crafted from high-density Rosewood or Ebony, these bridges offer the softest, most organic attack. They are the standard for achieving that classic "thumpy" jazz tone with minimal metallic overtones.
Tune-o-matic Hybrids: For players who need precise individual intonation or use modern string gauges, we offer bridges that combine a wooden floating base with a metal T-o-M top. This setup provides the sustain of metal with the acoustic "breath" of a floating base.
Fitting and Customization: Most hollow body bridges are supplied with a slightly oversized base, allowing you to sand and contour the feet to match the specific arch of your guitar's top. This "seating" process is vital for eliminating air gaps that can cause feedback or loss of volume.
