Fitment and Technical Standards:
To ensure compatibility with your potentiometers, consider the following mounting specs:
Push-On (Splined Shaft): Designed for split-shaft pots. We stock both Fine Knurling (24-teeth) for US-made pots (like CTS) and Coarse Knurling (18-teeth) for metric/import pots (like Alpha). Using the wrong type can damage the splines or result in a loose fit.
Set-Screw (Solid Shaft): These knobs feature a small side screw to tighten the knob onto a solid-shaft pot. They are universal but primarily used on Tele-style guitars and basses.
Witch Hat, Speed, & Bell Knobs: We offer various historical and modern shapes, including numbered scales for quick visual reference of your volume and tone settings.
Materials and Finishes:
Plastic & Acrylic: Lightweight and traditional, available in classic colors like Mint Green, Parchment, Amber, and Gold.
Metal Domes: Machined from brass, steel, or aluminum for a heavy-duty feel. Available with knurled surfaces for maximum grip, even with sweaty hands.
Specialty Knobs: Includes concentric (stacked) knobs for dual-potentiometer setups, often found on active bass preamps or vintage-style wiring.
Tech Tip:
Before purchasing, pull off your current knob and check the shaft type. If it’s split, count the teeth: a fine-knurled US pot has 24 teeth, while a metric pot has 18. This simple check ensures a perfect, wobble-free installation.
